Sandusky Police report an “unprecedented” level of recent drug overdoses
The Sandusky Police Department has expressed their concern on what Chief John Orzech calls an “unprecedented” level of recent drug overdoses in the city. The Sandusky PD reports they’ve had as many as 20-plus overdoses and four suspected deaths due to overdoses in the past two weeks alone. Police Chief Orzech says he has met with the Erie County Sheriff and will begin combined investigation efforts immediately to combat the epidemic. Plymouth man completes “Pursuit of Positivity”
A Plymouth man is back home after completing his “Tireless Pursuit of Positivity”. 39 year-old Bruce Tanner, owner of Levels Gym in Plymouth and Willard, returned home last night after an over 700-mile, 21-day journey that started in Portland, Maine. Tanner did not drive back home though; he relied only on the positivity of people to bring him back home; equipped with just a backpack. Tanner was welcomed back by a crowd a family and friends after receiving three rides back to his hometown on Tuesday from Elyria; ending his trip by walking from Willard; joined by a police escort.
Applications available for Willard Payroll Clerk
The City of Willard is now taking applications for a full time Payroll Clerk in the Finance Department. Applications must be turned in on Tuesday, November 29th by 12:00 noon; which includes a $5.00 fee for testing materials. A written exam will then be given on Tuesday, December 6th at 6:00 pm at City Hall.
Holiday Travel numbers from AAA
The Thanksgiving holiday is fast approaching, and AAA expects nearly 49-million Americans to travel at least 50 miles from home during that extended weekend. That’s an increase of about 2-percent from a year ago; and the most since 2007.
Fall Festival taking place at South Central Middle School on Saturday
South Central Middle School in Greenwich will play host to a Fall Festival this Saturday. The event includes a craft show and chili cook-off along with over 20 area vendors on-hand. It takes place from 4:00 to 7:00 pm with an admission fee of $5 for adults and $3 for students.
