Fatal Accident in Elyria

Police in Elyria are investigating a three-vehicle crash that has left one person, dead. The crash happened yesterday afternoon on Route 57 near Chestnut Commons, when the driver of a car in the southbound lanes lost control, struck and SUV, then veered across the median and was struck by a rental truck. The driver of the car was killed.

 

 

Erie County Fair continues in Sandusky

Today marks day three of the Erie County Fair in Sandusky.

This evening’s entertainment includes the Farm Tractor Pull & National Tractor Pulling Legends at 7:00 pm in the grandstand, plus the Jr. Miss Pageant at 7:00 as well. Carrie Danger from 95-3 WLKR will be broadcasting her show live from the fair today from 3:00 to 6:30 pm.

 

 

Norwalk City Hall closed for an hour today

Norwalk City Hall will experience a one-hour power outage today, due to the hook-up of a new generator. The outage will take place between 9:00 am and 12 noon. City Hall will be closed to the public during the outage.

 

 

Rotary Festival happens this Weekend in Huron

 

The 40th annual Huron Rotary Fine Art and Food Festival is this weekend at the Huron Boat Basin . The event features over 30 artists, along with gourmet food trucks from Cleveland, and live music each day. All the money brought in during the 3-day festival will help support the local community. The festival runs Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

 

 

Governor Kasich signs Executive Order dealing with Oil/Gas Emergencies

Governor John Kasich has signed an executive order, creating a one-call emergency-notification-system for oil-and-gas-related emergencies. The hope is to allow multiple state agencies to coordinate and respond, in the ‘quickest and most efficient manner possible’.

 

 

Larger Vehicles out-selling Cars in Ohio

It appears that lower-than-normal prices at the pump are enticing more and more people here in northern Ohio to buy more and more SUV’s and pick-up trucks rather than cars. According to the Greater Cleveland Automobile Dealers Association, new-car-sales are down for the year, but sales are up for SUV’s and trucks. In July, the volume-leader was Chevrolet, edging out Ford.
