Cedar Point/Soak City back to normal hours after water main break over the Weekend

Cedar Point and its’ water park, Soak City, are back to normal operations today, after repairs were completed to the main water line into the park. A water main break Saturday night forced Soak City to be closed on Sunday. Cedar Point will open today at 9:00 am for Early Entry guests and 10:00 am for everyone else; with Soak City opening at 11:00 am.

 

Highway Patrol to focus on causes of recent Fatal Crashes

During August, the Ohio State Highway Patrol will be focusing all their efforts on two-lane state and federal highways in Erie and Ottawa Counties between 2:00 and 5:00 pm.  Troopers will be firmly be enforcing improper passing, left of center/marked lanes, following too close, and seat belt violations.  In 2016, there has been seven fatal crashes in Erie and Ottawa Counties, with three happening in July.  Of those seven crashes, three were caused by improper passing or left of center violations.

 

Street Resurfacing Program continues today in Norwalk

Crews are set to be back in Norwalk today to continue the 2016 Street Resurfacing Program.  They are slated to begin on State Street, and progress to Wooster Street, Linwood Avenue, Hickory Street, Harris Avenue, and West Chestnut Street. Also, disrupted sidewalks and driveways along Pleasant and Washington streets will be restored.  Next week, crews plan to pave the Rec Center and City Hall parking lots.  Follow the City of Norwalk on Facebook for timely updates.

 

Purchase School Supplies tax free this upcoming Weekend

Ohio’s “Sales Tax Holiday” returns Friday through Sunday. The program is designed to help families save a little money during their “back to school” shopping.  Shoes and clothing priced less than 75-dollars will be tax-exempt along with School supplies and instructional materials under 20-dollars.

 

Clothing Drive to benefit Plymouth Band 

A clothing drive is being put on by the Plymouth High School Band to benefit the music boosters.  To donate, bring items to the three large red bins located near the fieldhouse at the Plymouth High School campus.  They are accepting items such as: clothing, blankets, towels, small kids’ toys, kitchen wares, DVDs, and jewelry.
