 Highway Patrol revives Norwalk man from Possible Overdose

A Norwalk man with a possible drug overdose was revived by patrol officers after being found unresponsive in his car on U.S. 250 in Milan yesterday morning.  Officers from the Norwalk Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol arrived on scene to find a man drooped over in his vehicle’s driver’s seat, after the vehicle had been reported driving recklessly, according to the Norwalk Reflector.  Officers performed CPR on the man until EMS arrived.  The man became conscious and was given the drug-overdose antidote Narcan.  Sergeant Brian Gockstetter reported the man in stable condition at Fisher-Titus hospital.

(From CBS News)-Donald Trump’s campaign is looking for a bump in the polls now that the Republican National Convention is over. The New York billionaire formally accepted his party’s presidential nomination last night, the final night of the convention, delivering what some are calling a “dark speech” in which he vowed to make America safe again, while bashing opponent Hillary Clinton and her policies.The Democratic National Convention is set for next Monday through Thursday in Philadelphia.  Hilary Clinton is expected to announce her vice-president pick this afternoon.

 

Elyria man to appeal sentence from having sex with underage girl

A man convicted of having sex with a 12 year old girl, says, he will appeal his sentence of 10-years-to-life in prison. At the moment, 26 year-old Demetrius Richardson of Elyria will be eligible for parole after 10 years.

 

Man accused in shooting of Lorain man to be brought back from Maryland

A Kentucky man will face the music in Lorain County. 38 year-old Larry Brown has waived extradition from Maryland, and will be brought back to this area next week. Brown is accused of shooting and killing 66 year old Lani Smith of Lorain, in his home on West Ninth.

 

Attorney General DeWine Opposes Aetna-Humana Merger

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine announced that his office has joined the U.S. Department of Justice and eight other attorneys general in challenging health insurer Aetna’s proposed acquisition of fellow-insurer Humana. Aetna and Humana are two of the nation’s five largest health insurers. In the lawsuit challenging the combination, the Department of Justice and attorneys general claim that the $37 billion merger would lead to reduced benefits, higher health insurance prices, and worse service for over a million Americans.
