Norwalk Post of Highway Patrol involved in High-Speed Motorcycle Pursuit

The pursuit then continued by Ohio State Highway Patrol Aircraft before the cycle stopped on Toledo’s east side in Lucas County, where the driver was never located after they left the scene on foot. Two handguns were seized from the cycle along with a significant amount of suspected heroin and marijuana. The incident remains under investigation.

$2.5 Million in Renovations get underway at Lorain County JVS
$2.5 million in summertime renovations have begun at the Lorain County Joint Vocational School, in a project meant to create more room for the school’s increasing amount of students. Classrooms on the second floor of the school will then be changed over into labs and class space. The project is scheduled to be mostly completed by August 23rd, just a few days before the first day of school for students, August 29th, according to JVS Assistant Superintendent Jerry Pavlik. Patrol: ‘Failure to yield’ violations caused 49,000 crashes in 2015
Motorists that don’t yield for other vehicles in the right-of-way cause far too many crashes in Ohio each year, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Crashes caused by this violation, known as “failure to yield” (FTY), rose in 2015; with total crashes increasing 9 percent compared to 2014, and fatal FTY crashes increasing 28 percent. Thirty-six percent of FTY crashes resulted in deaths or injuries last year, compared to 25 percent of all crashes. The Ohio State Highway Patrol is asking motorists to pay attention to which vehicles have the right-of-way and yield to them. Troopers wrote over 23,000 citations that included an FTY violation in 2015.
