The 2014 high school football season is complete.
The Maria Stein Marion Local Flyers won their fourth consecutive state championship, with a 41-0 victory over Norwalk St. Paul in Saturday’s Division VII title game at Ohio Stadium. St. Paul finished the season 13-2.

Gas prices continue to fall.
This morning, pump prices ranged from $2.36 in Sandusky to $2.59 in Willard. In Cleveland, some stations were selling gas for $2.21 a gallon.

According to Vegas, the Bucks are big underdogs against Alabama odds makers say Ohio State is a nine-point underdog. Ohio State and Alabama will face off in the Sugar Bowl January 1st. The winner play Oregon or Florida State for the national championship.
Huron County deputies continue to investigate a late November break-in at a business in Olena.

Norwalk City Council will soon pay tribute to second-ward councilman Bob Carleton.
Carleton passed away last month, at age 72. A resolution commemorating and honoring Carleton is on tomorrow night’s work session agenda.
The results are in from Saturday’s annual K96 and 95.3 WLKR Firefighters Chili Cook-Off held at Lyman Harbor.
Well over 1,000 people showed up to sample chili made by 16 area fire departments. A panel of judges awarded first place to the Rochester Fire Department, Florence Township was second and Huron along with Perkins tied for third. Danbury won the coveted ‘People’s Choice’ award.
