The 93rd Huron County Fair gets underway today.

Kelly Rose will broadcast live from the fair, between 10 and 3. Country singer Tyler Farr is tonight’s grandstand attraction. He’ll perform at 7:30. Ticket prices range from $12 to $20.

A quick rundown…

Tomorrow is Kids Day and Free Day at the Huron County Fair. Admission minus rides is free until 3.

Wednesday is Veterans Day, featuring one cent admission for veterans with proper ID.

Thursday is Senior Citizens Day…Seniors 60 and over will get in for a penny.

Regular daily admission to the Huron County Fair is $7.

 

A Bellevue woman is fair condition, after being hit by a suspected drunk driver.

Pamela Beckham is a patient at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo. She was flown there Thursday evening, after she was hit on East Main, near the Bellevue Public Library. According to reports, she was leaving her car, when she was struck by 62-year-old Marilyn Perry of Lindsey. Perry was arrested for DUI, and was taken to the Huron County Jail.

 

The state highway patrol is investigating a weekend crash that killed a teenage girl.

It happened shortly before 1:30 yesterday morning on State Route 105, in southwestern Ottawa County. An SUV driven by 18-year-old Austin Limpf of Curtice, Ohio went off the road, before overturning several times. A passenger, 14-year-old Miranda Marie Cleveland was ejected, and was pronounced dead at the scene. Limpf was taken to a nearby hospital, for treatment of minor injuries. He told troopers he fell asleep at the wheel.

 

Another rollover crash in Ottawa County injured two people.

That one happened yesterday afternoon on State Route 2 in Carroll Township.  Traffic was backed up for about two miles in both directions.  The crash is under investigation.

 

Huron County deputies have arrested a Norwalk man suspected of dealing cocaine.

David DeLeon was arrested Thursday, at the Rustic Hills Mobile Home Park. He was charged with cocaine trafficking, with more charges and more arrests expected. Cocaine with a street value of $4000 was seized from DeLeon’s home. Deputies said he was involved in a ‘fairly significant’ trafficking operation.

 

Charges are pending against a Bellevue man who crashed through a cemetery fence.

The crash occurred Friday night on West Center Street.  According to reports, the driver, Matthew Carbary left the scene but was found a short time later.  He was taken to The Bellevue Hospital.

 

The Norwalk City Schools Board of Education will meet in regular session tomorrow night.

The meeting will begin at 7:30 at Norwalk High School.  It’s a full agenda.  Among the items listed:  A resolution addressing the hiring of interim superintendent Will Folger and additional work days for assistant superintendent Sue Goodsite.  Folger will officially be hired tomorrow night.  Also on the agenda: a request for the board to authorize the Norwalk Athletic Boosters to begin construction on the Norwalk High School All-Sports Complex.

 

Strecker Road, between Kelly and Thomas Roads in Milan will be closed this Friday for railroad repairs.

The closure should last just one day.
