Lorain County’s case rate is down from a week ago…but the county moves from number 13 to number 11 on the case rate list.
Cuyahoga County has the state’s high case rate.

Details on a proposed amphitheater in Norwalk have been released.
According to Norwalk Ohio News.com, the amphitheater would be located at Veterans Memorial Lake Park and would use $300,000 in state funding, with no required match from the city.
A resolution asking for city council’s permission to apply for the funding was introduced by Mayor Dave Light earlier this week.

A shake-up at Palm Elementary School in Lorain…
The school board and CEO Jeff Graham have decided to fire principal Debra Pustulka and para-professional Monika Sommers-Fridenstine.
Pustulka has 10 days to appeal.
The action follows an investigation into allegations that a student was allegedly forced to eat food that had been tossed in the garbage because she refused to eat it the first time around.
The student’s family has filed suit in federal court, asking for unspecified damages.

In Medina County…
The U.S. Army Core of Engineers has agreed to provide more than 1-million-dollars to the Village of Lodi, to cover one-half of the cost of water system improvements.
A survey of the Bank Street water tower built in the 1930’s is showing extensive corrosion, and the Village wants to build a new 200,000-gallon tank on Evergreen Street.

Willard Police and Fire Departments are hosting their 6th annual food and toy drive this weekend.
It will take place on Saturday and Sunday from 10 to 4 at the Willard Fire Station, with food going to the Willard Food Bank and toys to children in need at Willard schools.

Tomorrow, the Elyria Bicycle Center on Middle Avenue will host a program sponsored by the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office employees.
They donated money to purchase 50 bicycles and toys, to be given away tomorrow from 11 until 4…or…while supplies last.

Sandusky will be taken over by hundreds of Santa lookalikes on Sunday.
The annual Santa Hustle 5K and Half Marathon get going at 9 am, starting and ending at Jackson Street Pier.
The race features participants dressed as Santa and other Christmas-related characters.
