A COVID vaccine or test mandate for all large businesses in the U-S has been put into place by the Biden administration.
Under the new rules, businesses with 100 or more employees must have those employees fully vaccinated or tested weekly for the virus by January 4th of next year.
Employees can request medical or religious exemptions from the mandate.

Statewide, numbers remained high on Thursday with 4,400, more than the 21-day rolling average of 3,500.
28 new cases were reported in Huron County on Thursday.

A railroad crossing in Vermilion will close on Monday.
The Norfolk-Southern crossing at Vermilion Road in Erie County will shut down to traffic starting at 7:30 am.
It’s planned to be reopened by next Friday the 12th, weather permitting.

A scam alert in Erie County…
Area fire departments are warning about fraudulent text messages that appear to show items for sale from a local fire department, which contains a link.
Fire officials say to not click the link, as it is a scam.
The Perkins Fire Department says that they never ask for funds or sell merchandise by phone or text.

New vehicle sales remain down…here in northern Ohio and nationwide.
According to the Greater Cleveland Automobile Dealers Association, October sales were down more than 31-percent from a year ago.
Auto industry experts blame a lack of inventory due to a worldwide chip shortage.
Your local volume leader for October was Ford, followed by Kia and Chevrolet.

The Erie County Humane Society presents their 5-K run/walk fundraiser in Sandusky Saturday morning.
The run gets underway at 9 am, starting at the Baithouse Brewery.
