In Huron County, COVID-19 cases have been on the decline recently.
According to Norwalk Ohio News.com, there have been no new cases in the county for the past 4 days.
The death toll in Huron County remains at 122 since the pandemic began.

The Lefty Grove Baseball League in Norwalk will pay tribute to its former commissioner on Sunday.
The Norwalk Reflector reports that the league will rename Field 4 ‘Scott Ford Field’ after receiving a grant from the Cleveland Indians, which includes signage with the name change.
Ford was part of the Lefty Grove league from 1977 until he passed away in 2019.

Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield insurance company has announced that they are donating nearly $300,000 to food banks across Ohio.
One of those is Second Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio, which serves Crawford, Erie, Huron and Lorain counties.
The funds going to Second Harvest will help feed over 154,000 people with more than 500,000 meals.

Today’s event will begin at 2 at Oakwood Park in Lorain.

Tomorrow is the deadline to pay the latest round of real estate tax and special assessment bills in Lorain County.
This year, the Treasurer’s Office processed more than 127-thousand bills.

Ohio Means Jobs Erie County in Sandusky is hosting a job fair this afternoon.
Over 25 employers are set to be on hand with attendees asked to dress for interviews.
It runs from 12 noon to 4 pm…and will feature raffles and a food truck.

A road closure in Huron County…
Route 162, between Euclid Road and Greenwich East Town Line Road, is closed for a culvert replacement project.
A detour route has been set .
It’s expected to remain shut down to traffic until August 4th.

Film crews have arrived in downtown Wellington, prepping for next week’s filming of a portion of “White Noise”…a motion picture starring 2-time Oscar nominee Adam Driver.
Crews are painting murals and changing signage on buildings.
Driver will play a college professor, who made a name for himself in so-called “Hitler studies”.
The film is scheduled for release, sometime next year.

Ribbon-cutting ceremonies are set for Monday afternoon, for the opening of a “Story Walk” path at Columbia Township Park…
Officials of the Lorain Public Library System say, “Story Walk” is an exciting way to combine physical activity with literacy, with children’s picture book pages mounted on frames along the park path.
