An Ottawa County man accused of killing his wife has updated his plea.
According to the Sandusky Register, 43-year-old John Eichner’s attorney has entered a plea of ‘not guilty by reason of insanity’.
He previously had pled just ‘not guilty’ to 28 charges, including aggravated murder.
The body believed by authorities to be his wife, Amber, was discovered in south Toledo late last month.
John Eichner’s trial date for July has been canceled.

In Medina County…
Police in Wadsworth say, they have arrested 7 people in connection with the shooting-death of Iron Cannon of Akron…last seen in Wadsworth in October of last year.
His body has not yet been found.
Police believe, a resident of Uniontown was the trigger-man.
4 others are accused of covering up the crime and two more are accused of hampering the investigation.

3 new cases were reported on Thursday.

The numbers are in, and they show, Ohio’s COVID-19 case-rate has dropped for the third week in a row, similar to October of last year…right before another spike.
County-by-county numbers show; Lorain County has the 14th highest case-rate among the state’s 88 counties.

Governor Mike DeWine has announced that the state’s mass vaccination clinic at the Wolstein Center in downtown Cleveland will start offering the Johnson & Johnson vaccine next week.
Anyone age 18 or older may receive the single-dose vaccine from next Tuesday through Monday, May 17th.
The clinic will continue offering first doses of the Pfizer vaccine to anyone age 16 or older through Monday… and second doses of Pfizer, beginning Tuesday May 18th for those who received their first doses at the Wolstein Center in late April and early May.

Singer-songwriter Emily Keener of Wakeman…who made the Top-12 on “The Voice” in 2016…has announced, she will perform her first-and-final spring-and-summer concert in Cleveland, on May 22nd.
Emily says, she will be moving out of state to serve Americorps through October.
Americorps is a voluntary, national public service program that helps those in need.

Work on the Old State Widening Phase 5 Project in Norwalk is slated to begin next week.
Old State Road, between Main Street and Gallup Avenue, will be closed to through traffic.
Local residents only will be allowed through, with access to Sofios Park to be allowed from the north end only.
The project is expected to be completed by August 1st.

Triple-A is throwing its support behind a bill that would make ‘distracted driving’, a primary offense in Ohio.
The Highway Patrol says, from 2013 to 2019, there were more than 91-thousand distracted driving crashes in Ohio, resulting in more than 47-thousand injuries and more than 300 deaths.
