A motorcyclist was killed in a 2-vehicle accident Friday in Perkins Township.
David Prinkey of Wayland, Ohio was 67.
According to the State Highway Patrol, 31 year-old Brittany Laubacher of Norwalk drove left of center and struck Prinkey head-on.
Laubacher was not hurt.
The crash occurred on Perkins Avenue, near East Bayview Lane.

A Sandusky man has been charged with attempted murder.
According to the Sandusky Register, the charge against 22 year-old Ryan Hollingshed is in connection with a shooting of a 23 year-old Sandusky resident on Friday that left the victim in critical condition.

Meanwhile in an unrelated case, 3 Sandusky men have been indicted on attempted murder charges in the alleged beating of a Norwalk man.
According to the Sandusky Register, the three men, ranging from 24 to 27 years-old, are accused of attacking the 39 year-old man on Cleveland Road in Sandusky last July.
The man was sent to the hospital with serious injuries.

A Lakeside Marblehead establishment has been cited for violating a health order in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Authorities issued a citation to Joe’s Fish Market for using an alleged token system in an attempt to bypass the 10:00 pm sales restrictions.

Two Huron County road construction projects are set to begin today.
Route 18, just east of Route 20 to the Lorain County line, will have single lane closures for the rest of the month.
Route 601, between Gibbs Road and Route 20, will close today for a culvert replacement. It will remain closed until October 27th.

They strongly recommend against activities such as hayrides, haunted houses and large parties…but they’re leaving decision-making to individual communities.
They also recommend against holding Halloween parties.

It’s Child Passenger Safety Week, a week designated to make sure children are in the correct car seat, that it’s properly installed and used and that it’s registered with its manufacturer for safety updates.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, from 2017 to 2019, there were 1,500 unbelted children under age 13 killed or seriously injured in a vehicle where safety equipment was available.
Of those, 148 were serious injuries.
