Your latest local Corona Virus figures…

Erie County – 41 confirmed cases – No new cases on Thursday

Huron County – 24 total cases reported – 1 new case on Thursday

Lorain County – 340 total cases – 10 more on Thursday

Statewide: Nearly 14,700 confirmed cases – around 600 new cases Thursday – with 656 fatalities – 55 more confirmed Thursday

 

With the partial re-opening of the state just a week or so away, Lieutenant Governor Jon Husted spoke Thursday about the high standards businesses will have to meet in order to open their doors to the public.

Husted said that stores do NOT have to open on May 1st; but those that choose to do will have to follow thorough standards set forth by the CDC.

 

All negative…the COVID-19 tests for four Sandusky Transit drivers.

According to the Sandusky Register, all four drivers were in contact with a passenger that had a case of the Corona Virus. 

Sandusky Transit says they’ve been taking proper precautions against the spread of COVID-19 since late March.

 

A northeast Ohio man accused of selling N95 masks at a huge markup is being forced to refund the money and forfeit the masks.

The lawsuit against Mario Salwan of Chagrin Falls stated that he sold packages of 10 N95 masks to 15 purchasers online at prices ranging from $360 to $375 during the COVID-19 outbreak; nearly 1,800 percent more than they originally cost.

 

The Bellevue Hospital has put new mask protocols into place this week to align with guidelines from the CDC to slow the spread of COVID-19.

All employees are wearing personal protection equipment as they travel throughout the hospital and are encouraging patients and visitors to wear their own cloth face coverings upon arrival.

If any patient or visitor does not have a face covering, a staff member will offer a facemask or cloth face covering as supplies allow.

 

Second Harvest Food Bank will host 2 drive-thru food distribution events in Huron County on Friday. 

…Beginning at 12 noon…at both the Huron County Fairgrounds in Norwalk and at Willard City Park. 

Second Harvest officials will be giving out free boxes of frozen meat, produce and assorted shelf-stable food.
