The latest on the Corona Virus…
As of yesterday afternoon, there were 37 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ohio; with 361 people under investigation. 11 different counties in the state have reported cases…Cuyahoga has the most with 14 while just recently announced were Lorain with 2 and Medina with 1.
The Centers for Disease Control are recommending that gatherings of 50 or more people should be prohibited for the next 8 weeks.
Governor Mike DeWine put in an order last night to close down all bars and restaurants in Ohio; with takeout and delivery still allowed.
Most local schools have decided to close today; even though the 3-week government shutdown of schools doesn’t go into effect until tomorrow.
The Norwalk Fire Station has closed to the general public; with emergency walk-ins still accepted. Firefighters in Norwalk say they’ll be wearing special “N95” masks and goggles on respiratory calls; and for the public not to be alarmed by them.
Columbia Gas has suspended shutoffs for nonpayment issues during this time.

Erie County has formed an Emergency Operations Center in hopes of keeping the county safe, healthy and with minimal disruption during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The center is made-up of 17 stakeholders; combining the resources of law enforcement and first responders, Township officials, Firelands Regional Medical Center and Cedar Point.
The group plans on opening a call center in Erie County by Tuesday.

A road closure this morning in Erie County…
Route 101 at Route 2 is temporarily closed due to a traffic crash.

Officials in Perkins Township are looking to install a crosswalk in a high-traffic area.
According to the Sandusky Register, discussions have taken place about putting a crosswalk on Route 250 by Kalahari Resorts’ main entrance at the intersection across from the gas station.
This comes after a pedestrian was struck and killed by a car in that area.
Officials hope to have the crosswalk started soon and finished by the summer.

In Greenfield Township…Bauman Road, between Route 99 and Peru Center Road, will be closed for the next 6 weeks due to bridge deck repairs.
