The latest information on the Corona Virus in Ohio…
The CDC is expanding criteria, for people who may receive a test for the Corona Virus. The feds are also expanding the number of those who can conduct the tests. One of those will be the Cleveland Clinic.
The state now has 5 confirmed cases of Corona Virus; which involves a 55-year-old Trumbull County man who is currently hospitalized.
Schools throughout Ohio will shut down for 3 weeks following classes on Monday.
Governor Mike DeWine announced that an order has been signed to prohibit mass gatherings in the state; including sporting events.
The Ohio Department of Health is expected to soon release an order to ban visitors to nursing and assisted living homes.

Fisher-Titus in Norwalk is restricting visitors at Norwalk Memorial Home, Fisher-Titus Transitional Care Unit, and The Carriage House; effectively immediately.
The Norwalk Area Food Bank will be open next week, Monday through Thursday, before closing for 2 weeks.

Each day brings new cancellations and/or postponements…
- Students at Oberlin College have been told, they have to move out of dorms by Monday
- Students at Ohio State have been told, they have to move out of dorms by March 22nd.
- The Lorain Public Library System is suspending all programs until further notice.
- Norwalk’s Parks and Recreation Department has postponed their Friday Fun Nights until further notice.
- “Live Nation” is suspending all concerts until further notice.
- The Great Lakes Science Center is closing until further notice.
- Disney is closing its U-S theme parks

Erie County Common Pleas Court has set a date for a third trial of a Sandusky pastor accused of child sex offenses.
According to the Sandusky Register, 58-year-old Richard Mick of Castalia will face another jury trial on August 10th.
The former pastor of Lighthouse Baptist Church was sentenced to life in prison in his first trial in 2016 before an appeals court reversed that decision.
The second trial for Mick was then declared a mistrial in July of last year.
Mick is facing 12 felony sex charges regarding 3 victims, who were children and part of his church at the time.

The Lorain County Grand Jury has indicted four young men…three from Elyria, one from Grafton…for an armed robbery in Elyria.
They were arrested after a man told police, he was robbed at gunpoint while walking to work near East Bridge and East River, in January.

Outgoing Norwalk Fire Chief John Soisson will be recognized for his several years of service later this morning.
Mayor Dave Light will be presenting Soisson with a proclamation at the Norwalk Fire Station’s training room.
Soisson had to step down last June after suffering a stroke; but is putting in one last ceremonial shift today.
Soisson first became Norwalk Fire Chief in 2013.

The 2020 Census is fast approaching; with invitation to respond letters expected to arrive in the mail to residents any time now.
Beginning April 8th, households that have not yet responded will receive a paper questionnaire.
Starting in mid-May, census officials across the nation will visit households that haven’t responded to collect responses in person.

The Norwalk Parks and Rec Department will go to voters with a levy request on Tuesday.
Parks and Rec Superintendent Joe Lindenberger told WLKR/K96 News that the 1.75 mill tax levy is a combination of the 3 current levies they have on the books.
The money generated would go to operations and maintenance.
The levy request went down in narrow defeat last fall.
