A Sandusky man with a history of driving drunk was charged again with OVI early Wednesday.

According to the Sandusky Register, 25-year-old Dominque Morris was pulled over by Sandusky Police at Camp and Seneca Streets. 

Morris has 3 prior OVI convictions…in 2015, and twice in 2018.

 

U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown’s office made a couple of announcements Thursday regarding the awarding of funds for two separate projects.

More than $3.5 million from the Environmental Protection Agency has been earmarked for the ‘Great Lakes Restoration Initiative’…to be used to restore wetland habitats, control and prevent invasive species, and to continue cleanup and restoration work…including nearly $300,000 for an area of the Sandusky Bay.

Also, over $4.2 million in federal funds are going to Cleveland Hopkins International Airport for improvements to their runway.

 

An Elyria man, accused of pushing his SUV off a cliff into the Black River in Elyria, has been sentenced to 3 years of ‘community control’ and ordered to pay more than 10-thousand-dollars in restitution.

53-year-old Randall White has pled ‘guilty’ to several charges, including ‘insurance fraud’.

 

The filing deadline for candidates to have their names placed on the March primary ballot is December 18th.

In Lorain County, the Board of Elections say, half-a-dozen incumbents have already filed petitions, including…

  • Prosecutor Dennis Will
  • Sheriff Phil Stammitti
  • State Representative Joe Miller of Amherst

 

‘Closed until further notice’…that’s what the sign on the front door of Berry’s Restaurant in Norwalk said Thursday. 

The Norwalk Reflector reports that a court hearing involving restaurant ownership and Citizen’s Banking Company will be held Monday morning in Huron County.

This comes after the restaurant’s previous owners are reportedly being foreclosed on…with a Sheriff’s Sale scheduled for next month.

 

Governor Mike DeWine has announced the launch of a statewide virtual driver assessment program.

The ‘Ohio – Ready, Test, Drive!’ program will install 400 customized virtual driving assessment systems in Ohio’s 57 driver examination locations, as well as in many of Ohio’s driver training schools.

The free virtual driving systems will examine student driver preparedness and help Ohio make improvements to its overall driver’s education curriculum.
