The Vermilion school district and community are mourning the loss of an 8th grade student.
The district, via social media, made the sad announcement that 8th grader Brooke Adams passed away unexpectedly Wednesday evening.
Grief counselors are being made available for Vermilion students and staff members.
One person is dead after a fatal officer-involved shooting in Wadsworth late Thursday night.
The Ohio Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association, posted on social media that the shooting happened outside of Wadsworth City Hall, where the Wadsworth Police Station is also located.
Wadsworth Police are expected to release more information about the incident today.
Carlisle Township firefighters are investigating what caused a house fire on Hastings Road Thursday morning.
According to authorities, they were alerted to the fire around 2:00 am, and extinguished the flames shortly before 9:00 am.
All residents of the home were able to get out of the home unharmed; however the home is being considered a total loss.
Veterans Day is Monday…with many local schools making their plans to honor local military members.
At Edison High School, a plaque bearing the 26 names of the Erie County veterans who are on the Vietnam Wall in Washington, D.C. will be presented to the local VA.
All area veterans are invited to the assembly on Monday; running from 1:00 to 2:15 pm.
Willard Fire and Rescue are hosting a community CPR and AED class for non-medical personnel…thanks to a Willard High School student.
…Happening Saturday, November 16th from 8 am to noon…the class is being organized by Whitney Robinson for her senior project.
The free class is limited to 16 participants.
Sidell’s Barbarshop in Medina along with Life Care Center’s of Medina are giving back to our Veterans by offering free haircuts on Monday to those who’ve served.
During the all day event, Life Care Center’s Terri Hodgemen says, Veterans will have an opportunity to get their ears lowered, and meet Cleveland Cavaliers radio legend, Joe Tait.
Tait will be there from 9 to 10 am signing autographs.
