Striking General Motors workers will be voting through tomorrow, on a tentative contract agreement.

The package reportedly does NOT include a new product-line for the closed plant in Lordstown, Ohio.

 

Another scam…this one reported in Lorain County.

Police in Elyria say, a woman called them to report a phone call she received, from someone claiming to work for the Social Security Administration, fishing for personal and credit card information.

Again…police say, this is a scam…

 

A ‘Tailgate Benefit’ is planned Saturday for a Norwalk family who lost everything in a fire last week. 

The event will be held at Contractor’s Field, on Route 18, not too far from East Main Street in Norwalk.

Donations for Eric and Maria Livengood and family will be accepted at the pregame meal, running from 2:00 to 6:30 pm…prior to the St. Paul-Western Reserve football game. 

The family has St. Paul ties…their son, Lars, is a senior football player for the Flyers; while daughter Emma is a cheerleader.

No one was hurt in the fire on Norwood Avenue that occurred last Saturday night.

 

Cleveland Magazine has named Elyria Mayor Holly Brinda, one of their ‘Community Leaders of the Year’…citing leadership, achievement, and innovation over the past year.

Mayor Brinda and 5 others from Greater Cleveland will be honored during ceremonies November 7th in Cleveland.

 

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has joined governors from five other states on the Great Lakes, in sending a letter to members of the U.S. House Committee on Natural Resources in support of the Recovering America’s Wildlife Act. 

The bill would dedicate almost $1.4 billion for fish and wildlife conservation efforts across the country. 

 

Norwalk First United Methodist Church has announced that they’ll serve as one of over 600 churches around the world that will host ‘Night to Shine 2020’, sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation.

 ‘Night to Shine’ is a prom night experience for those with special needs, ages 14 and older…featuring a limo ride, red carpet, hair and makeup stations and much more.

This event will be hosted across the globe next February.

 

A kid’s winter coat giveaway for Bellevue students will take place Saturday at “Pass it on Clothing Closet” on Maple Street. 

Those who haven’t registered…still can do so on Saturday morning. 

The coats will be given out, one per child, from 9:00 to 11:00 am…and the child must be a student in the Bellevue School District.

 

The Lorain Palace Theater will come alive tomorrow with the…dead.

The theater will host the first Erie Shore Paranormal Conference.

Tomorrow’s conference will be followed by a ‘ghost hunt’.
