The victim of a crash Tuesday afternoon in Erie County has reportedly been released from the hospital.

According to the Sandusky Register, the crash took place on Route 269 in Groton Township involving a 24-year-old Bellevue woman that a witness said slid off the road and into a pole.

She was airlifted at the time to Cleveland MetroHealth.

 

An 18 year old Berea-Midpark High School football player has pled ‘not guilty’ to ‘kidnapping’ and ‘rape’.

According to the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office, multiple victims claim to have been sexually assaulted in a dorm, during the team’s summer camp as Case-Western-Reserve-University.

Three juveniles from the football team also face charges.

 

CEO David Hardy issued another message yesterday, saying, he did not mean to induce panic regarding in a previous message in which he said, employees and vendors might not be paid on time.

School Board President Mark Ballard responded by saying, Hardy needs to resign.

Meanwhile, State Representative Joe Miller of Amherst has sent a letter to Hardy, demanding copies of various documents, including a list of the administrators Hardy has hired, and their salaries.

A structure fire took place early Wednesday morning in Perkins Township.

The Perkins Fire Department says it occurred at an apartment building on the Township’s east side…with three occupants rescued from balconies along with 2 dogs.

No word yet on the cause of the blaze.

 

A water main break has led to a boil advisory being issued for a section of East Cleveland Road in Vermilion Township.

Officials say the advisory includes homes from the 6300 through the 6600 block…and will stay in effect through Friday at 8:00 am. 

 

A 22-year-old man from Indiana has pled ‘guilty’ to one count of ‘gross sexual imposition’.

Brandon Arven was accused by three girls, of purposely brushing against them in the arcade at Kalahari, in December.

 

A new, $5.8 million surgery center is coming to Norwalk.

According to the Norwalk Reflector, Fisher-Titus Medical Center president Dr. Brent Burkey has announced that Fisher-Titus is teaming up with other local medical groups to make up what will be The Surgery Center of North Central Ohio. 

The over 12,000-foot facility will be located on U.S. 250 next to Fisher-Titus Convenient Care.

Construction is scheduled to get underway this fall…with plans for it to open at the end of 2020.

 

A 13-unit housing development in downtown Sandusky has broken ground.

City officials say the Water Street Lofts will include carriage houses and townhouses that include rooftop decks with a great view of the Sandusky Bay. 

 

Hotels are all sold out, extra security has been brought in…and final preparations are underway for the third annual ‘Bash on the Bay’ at the Put-in-Bay airport later today. 

Kid Rock will headline the concert along with Uncle Kracker.

Over 15,000 people are expected for the show…with the first band to take the stage at 3:00 pm

If you need to get to the island, the Jet Express and Miller Ferry will be running all-day-long.

 

One week from tomorrow, the city of Sandusky will host the YETI F-L-W College Fishing Tournament.

Some of the top anglers from across the region will compete for cash and prizes, and a chance to advance to the national finals.
