The Norwalk Reflector reports that George Fisk has taken his name out of the running for the superintendent job at South Range Local Schools, near Youngstown.

Fisk was reportedly, at one time, one of four finalists for that position.

Fisk, whose current five-year contract with Norwalk runs through the summer of 2023, also applied for the top jobs at North Canton in 2016 and Claymont in 2018.

Another battle is brewing between the Lorain School Board and schools’ CEO David Hardy Junior…

There are five candidates for the four-year term slot…and two people are running for the two-year term position.

Roadwork continues in Norwalk…

The city has announced that another railroad crossing will close next week.

The crossing on Woodlawn Avenue is closed this week; as part of the city’s Street Resurfacing Project.

Also…starting today…and continuing Monday…the city says paving will take place between Akron and Cleveland roads…closing the area to traffic.

It’s time to ‘Shape Up Sandusky’…

Family Health Services on Hayes Avenue will host the free health fair Saturday afternoon from 12 noon to 3…with food demos, giveaways and plenty of information on living a healthy lifestyle.

The Huron County Fair in Norwalk winds down this weekend…

From 7am to 1pm today, those donating a non-expired, non-perishable food item will receive 1-dollar off their admission…with the item to be donated to the Salvation Army.

Tonight, the rough truck competition takes over the grandstand at 7:00 pm.

The fair then wraps up on Saturday…with the demo derby at 6:00 pm.

Cedar Point will turn 150 years-old next year.

They’ve announced some of the ways they’ll commemorate the milestone…including nighttime celebrations, new innovative food options…as well as a “re-imagined” Town Hall in Frontier Town…and what the park calls “a river expedition for a new generation”.
