The body of an 18-year-old Ashland man that went missing in Lake Erie at Huron’s Nickel Plate Beach on Sunday…has been found.
Multiple media outlets report that Alvin Martin’s body was discovered by a fisherman at the mouth of the Huron River this morning.
Witnesses say Martin fell off a raft, about 50 yards from shore while trying to rescue several children from choppy waters.
A hung jury in an Erie County murder trial…
61-year-old Anthony Wright of Sandusky was charged with attempted murder for allegedly shooting Richard Goings of Sandusky last October outside of Wright’s home on Carr Street.
According to the Sandusky Register, a retrial is scheduled for late August; with a second trial planned for a month later.
Huron County Public Health is on the move…
They’ll be moving their agency in Norwalk from 180 Milan Avenue to 28 Executive Drive in about a week and a half.
The move will result in limited services beginning at 3:00 pm on Thursday, July 18th with normal business hours to resume the following day.
Officials say the new facility will be smaller in size, but more conveniently located near other social service and government offices as well as Fisher-Titus Medical Center; with a goal to make access easier for the majority of Huron County residents.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol has released traffic crash information regarding the recent 4th of July holiday weekend, from Wednesday, July 3rd to Sunday, July 7th.
There were 12 traffic collisions, in which 12 people lost their lives…with impairment to be a suspected factor in at least three of those crashes.
The patrol also responded to just over 800 crashes during that period, made more than 700 arrests for OVI and over 500 arrests for drug-related offenses.

30-year-old Brian Carrick is accused of beating a dog in his care…allegedly caught on an in-home security camera.
A landscaper from Lorain will have an opportunity in court, to respond to a lawsuit filed against him and his company, by Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost.
Yost filed the lawsuit after receiving complaints against Master Landscaping Sprinklers and its owner, Alejandro Sanchez.
They want nearly 40-thousand-dollars in refunds.
It’s not every night a city council meeting is standing room only, but that was the case last night in Medina.
More than 150 people were on hand to witness Medina City Council amend an ordinance that prohibits intimidation on the basis of sex, gender identity or sexual orientation, and approve another that prohibits discrimination.
