A Greenwich man was killed as result of a two-vehicle crash Friday in Huron County’s Fairfield Township…
The State Highway Patrol says 75-year-old C.L. Jones stopped his pickup truck on State Route 162 and exited his vehicle…with a school bus striking the vehicle as he was getting out.
Jones was pronounced dead at the scene…the bus driver, 47-year-old Rosalie Keesy of Willard, received minor injuries.
No other injuries were reported.
The feds are investigating Sunday’s crash of a small plane near the Elyria Airport on Middle Avenue.
The pilot…63 year old Joseph Begany of Elyria, was killed.
Investigators say, he was the only person on the single-engine Piper Cub.
The City of Norwalk says all tests have come back negative with no restrictions…concerning an unknown algae found about a-week-and-a-half ago at Vets Memorial Reservoir…

In other algae-related news…researchers say, toxin-producing algae have formed in the Sandusky Bay and are moving into Lake Erie near Cedar Point
The Toledo Blade reports; an official from Bowling Green State University’s “Great Lakes Center” says, toxin levels so far, are relatively low and do not threaten water treatment systems.
Toxins from an algae bloom 5 years ago caused major problems in Toledo.
Police in Lorain are trying to sort out what happened Sunday at Central Park.
What they DO know is…one person was shot at about 7 o’clock last night…and there were quite a few people in the park at the time.

According to the Sandusky Register, Hobby Lobby will move in to the former spot of Sears; which closed in 2016.
Mall owners will reportedly split the 80,000 square feet location with Hobby Lobby to take up 50,000 of it…the rest going to other future tenants.
Officials hope to turn the location over to Hobby Lobby by March of 2020.
