Sandusky County/Cycle crash claims Bellevue man’s life
A Bellevue man died in a motorcycle crash on Monday in Sandusky County.
Ray Beier was 66.
Authorities say Beier was driving on U.S. 20 near Clyde when it appeared that he lost control of his cycle and went into a field, throwing him to the ground…according to multiple media outlets.
Alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
Huron County/Investigation into road construction fatality
The investigation continues into last December’s crash in Union County that killed a road construction worker from Greenwich.
24-year-old Teresa Howell was reportedly struck and killed by a tractor-trailer while performing guardrail repairs on U.S. 33…in which the truck driver left the scene.
The Norwalk Reflector reports that no has been charged yet…as law enforcement looks to acquire a search warrant and present it to a grand jury.
Lorain County News/Inmate dies
An inmate, who was taken Saturday afternoon from the Lorain County Jail to the hospital, has died.
Authorities suspect a drug overdose, but it has not yet been confirmed.
The Lorain County Coroner and the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau are investigating the incident.

A man who lives near the Lakewood/Cleveland border is the U-S Marshall’s “Fugitive of the Week”.
35-year-old Aaron Drayton is accused of forcing his way into a Lakewood home and assaulting a woman.
He is considered armed and dangerous.
Erie County/UTV crash
A Milan man was seriously hurt in a crash involving a utility terrain vehicle on Saturday night.
According to the Sandusky Register, three people were thrown from the UTV after driving through a yard and striking a utility pole on Mason Road in Erie County.
36-year-old Tyler Slack was transported by medical helicopter to a Cleveland hospital…the other two riders walked away.
Authorities believe alcohol and speeding were contributing factors.
Erie County/Sandusky code compliance public forums
A series of code compliance public forums begins tomorrow in Sandusky.
“Weed Season and 24-Hour Boulevard Placement” takes place at 5:00 pm in the first floor conference room of the city building.
Other forums featuring zoning and housing/rental inspections happen in May and June.
State News/Pelosi to appear in Columbus
U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi will be the keynote speaker at the Ohio Democratic Party’s annual Legacy Dinner in Columbus next month.

State News/Surplus Auction
Over 130 vehicles will be up for bid at the next state surplus vehicle auction this Saturday in Columbus.
It will include a 42-passenger bus, a 14-foot aluminum boat and a variety of motorcycles, trucks, cars and SUVs.
The auction will be held at the Ohio Department of Administrative Services, on Surface Road; starting at 9:00 am.
