Erie County/Armed robbery in Perkins Township
Law enforcement in Perkins Township is investigating a reported armed robbery Thursday afternoon.
According to the Sandusky Register, it took place at the Convenient Food Mart on East Perkins Avenue…in which a suspect allegedly showed a gun and took an unknown amount of cash.
Police say there are multiple cameras in the business that they will be checking.
State News/Gas tax
It appears, state lawmakers will have to reach a compromise if they intend to raise the gasoline tax.
The state senate has endorsed 6 cents a gallon…the state house recommends 11 cents a gallon…and Governor Mike DeWine is pushing for 18-cents.
State News/$29 million in funds to address Ohio opioid crisis
A $29,000 grant has been made available to the Ohio Department of Health to address Ohio’s opioid epidemic.
The camps of U.S. Senators from Ohio, Sherrod Brown and Rob Portman, say the funds will be used to expand access to addiction treatment, especially medication-assisted treatment with appropriate social support.
Medina County/Vandalism
The Medina County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone to come forward, with information about vandalism at the York Township Community Park.
Someone knocked over…and damaged…the marble monument dedicated to the U-S Army…part of the Gold Star Families Memorial that was built about 3 years ago.

Erie County/Sandusky’s Dragons & Bacon Fest back
Sandusky city officials have announced that the Dragons and Bacon Fest will be back for the third time.
This time…with more bacon and more dragon boats.
The third annual event is returning to the Paper District Marina and Amphitheatre on Saturday, September 14th.
