Huron County/Known sex offender charged with more crimes
A Norwalk man with a past of criminal activity has been indicted on crimes related to allegedly breaking into his former workplace.
The Norwalk Reflector reports that 37-year-old Andrew Grose, a convicted sex offender and once known to the area as “Cleveland the Clown”, has pled not guilty to vandalism and breaking and entering charges.
He has a trial scheduled for next month.
Lorain County/School threat
The Lorain County Sheriff’s Office is looking for the person who posted a threat on social media that prompted school closings in the Columbia district yesterday as a precaution.
The Sheriff’s Office says, it appears the threats were made by someone hacking into a student’s video-gaming-system that was linked to social media accounts.
Vermilion/Break-ins continue
Another business in Vermilion has been broken into…
Authorities there say Susie’s Café on Liberty Avenue was the latest hit; happening Sunday night…in the same way as two other reported break-ins in the last couple of weeks on Liberty Avenue…where suspects reportedly took the cash register.
Police are asking the public to contact them with any information.
Ottawa County/Marijuana car arrest
A man from Arizona was arrested in Ottawa County on Sunday night after authorities allegedly found close to 20 pounds of marijuana in his vehicle.
Multiple media outlets report that 34-year-old Hugo Luzania was charged with drug trafficking and other crimes following a crash near Oak Harbor.
Sandusky County/Wanted man
The Sandusky County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a man with felony warrants from several agencies.
They say James Salazar could be in Vickery, Fremont or Tiffin.
The Sheriff’s Office says to contact your local law enforcement if you see him or know where he’s located.
State News/House Bill 127
Two state lawmakers have introduced a bill, to create a moratorium on further state takeovers of struggling school districts.
Republican Steve Hambley of Brunswick and Democrat Kent Smith of Euclid introduced House Bill 127 yesterday.
It does not impact three districts already under state control…Lorain, Youngstown and East Cleveland.
Huron County/Willard grocery store closing
A long-time, locally-owned grocery store in Willard is closing its doors soon.
Missler’s IGA in the Blossom Center has announced via their Facebook page that they will be going out of business at the end of this month…after 37 years of operation.
