Cleveland man facing robbery charges for incidents in Norwalk and Sandusky
A man from Cleveland already in jail for felonious assault charges now faces three counts of first-degree felony aggravated robbery for allegedly taking part in three area armed robberies.
24 year-old Devante Price reportedly robbed at gunpoint the Mama B’s Pizza in Sandusky in October and CVS stores in Norwalk and Sandusky in December.
Police believe Price is the suspect due to surveillance video and other leads.
Married couple indicted for theft
A married couple has been indicted on theft charges.
Both 51 year-old James of Taylor, Michigan and 56 year-old Patricia Snowdy of Maumee have been charged with receiving stolen property and theft for allegedly having nearly $6,000 in stolen products with them from JCPenney in The Sandusky Mall and other stores when they were pulled over by authorities in December.
Sandusky man in trouble for making threats to courthouse
A Sandusky man was arrested earlier this week for allegedly making threats involving Erie County Common Pleas Court.
41 year-old Christopher Beck was charged with inducing a panic Tuesday after he reportedly threatened to shoot everyone in the courthouse in order to get officers to kill him.
Beck had a court order against him after he reportedly missed a scheduled civil protection order hearing.
Extra work and supplies needed this winter to clear roads
Extra supplies and more work have been needed this winter from local road crews than in previous years.
Both Huron County Engineer Lee Tansey and Norwalk Public Works Director Josh Snyder told the Norwalk Reflector that additional overtime and more salt has been used to clear the roads this winter than in the last two seasons.
Huron County has used close to half of its salt order for the winter; around 1,200 tons.
Sandusky Schools hosting Parent Summit tomorrow
“We Are Family: Managing Crisis and Building Community” – the title of Sandusky Schools’ annual Parent Summit on Saturday.
The event will focus on educating families on the opioid crisis and related issues along with college and career readiness.
It takes place Saturday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm inside the Sandusky High School cafeteria.
Erie MetroParks considering installing street light at Edison Woods
Officials at Erie MetroParks are looking into having a street light installed at their Edison Woods MetroPark parking lot to deter suspicious activity.
Nearby residents have shared their concerns over various issues including people sitting in their cars at night with their lights off and someone abandoning cats and other animals at the park.
