Huron County EMA Director search winds down
A new EMA Director for Huron County could be named as soon as this week.
The search is down to two candidates, who were both interviewed on Tuesday.
Former long-time director Bill Ommert served as interim director until his passing from cancer in August.
Ommert was interim director due to the resignation of then director, Jason Roblin, in late July.
Milan boy charged with inducing panic
An Edison student was charged with inducing panic on Friday after allegedly threatening to kill himself with scissors on a school bus.
The 14-year-old from Milan reportedly was on a bus filled with students at Edison High School during the incident; with an Erie County Sheriff’s deputy later intervening.
School officials say the boy has received assistance.
Meat shop in Shiloh shuts down for the time being due to recall
Newswanger Meats in Shiloh (Richland County) has temporarily shut its doors due to a recall involving over 2,000 pounds of meat.
The Mansfield News Journal reports that a water sample failed to meet the state health department’s requirements.
No reports have been made concerning any unpleasant reactions to the recalled products.
The butcher shop is getting a second opinion on the water sample.
Walk-in flu clinic to be held this week in Erie County
The Erie County Health Department and Community Health Center are hosting two walk-in flu vaccine clinics this month.
The first takes place tomorrow from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at the health department in Sandusky; with another scheduled for next Thursday the 19th from 4:00 to 6:00 pm as well.
No appointment is necessary. Bring appropriate identification and payment or insurance information.
Bohemian Wrapsody restaurant closes in Norwalk
A Norwalk restaurant has closed following issues with a hot water tank.
According to the Norwalk Reflector, owners Ben and Kimberly Boss of Bohemian Wrapsody on West Main Street said the tank needed to be replaced; which the building’s owner reportedly said he wasn’t going to do.
The restaurant had been under new ownership by the Boss’ for five months.
‘Dine-Out’ fundraiser at Bluto’s today
Fue to the closing of Bohemian Wrapsody, the Norwalk Area United Fund’s Dine-Out fundraiser today will now be at Bluto’s Sports Bar and Grill in Norwalk.
A portion of today’s sales at Bluto’s will benefit the United Fund’s 2018 community campaign.
