They’ve been charged with felonious assault, for allegedly beating two Bowling Green men. They remain in the Wood County Juvenile Detention Center. Also charged: a third teen not on the Fostoria football team.
Trouble for Plymouth Village Administrator Billy Sexton.
He’s facing a charge of DUI. Sexton was arrested Sunday night after a traffic stop in Greenwich. His blood alcohol level was .137. His job status is unknown.
State Representative Chris Redfern has announced plans to hold a Town Hall Meeting in Erie County.
It’ll be held from 4:30 until 5:30 Monday, at the Perkins Township Hall on Columbus Avenue. Redfern will listen to residents’ questions and concerns, and discuss pending action in Columbus.
A new analysis shows the Ohio Police and Fire Pension Fund is on shaky ground.
According to a consultant’s report, members could face contributing more of their paychecks, and changing benefits. The report also says the fund will need to earn double-digit returns to hit its long-term target. The fund serves nearly 60,000 current and retired police, firefighters and beneficiaries.
The Norwalk Area United Fund’s new fundraising campaign is underway.
A goal of $355,000 was announced during this morning’s 2014 Campaign Kickoff Breakfast held at the Norwalk Eagles Club. Money raised will go toward two dozen local non-profit groups and will help pay for various United Fund programs.
While on a syndicated TV program, an Ohio man said he has 27 kids.
39-year-old Nathaniel Smith of Dayton was on ‘Divorce Court’, when he told the judge he has 12 sons, and 15 daughters. He has child support orders for 21 of the children. Smith was on the reality court show with his 23-year-old wife.
A drug bust, in Willard.
Three arrests were made, during the Monday afternoon raid at a Park Street home. Matthew Sweet Sr., and Brandi Thornton were taken to jail on various drug charges. A third person at the home, Scott Bivens of North Fairfield was arrested on child support warrants. Willard and Monroeville police took part in the raid, along with Huron County deputies. They seized heroin, crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia.
